I don’t know about you but I have never once looked at my shoelaces and thought ‘hmm, better have a servant flatten them with an iron’.

Probably because 1. I don’t have servants and 2. Who the heck looks that closely at their shoelaces?

Well. Prince Charles does.

Okay. It seems the Prince of Wales – known as the “pampered prince” by palace staff – is uh, a major diva.

In an Amazon Prime documentary calledServing the Royals: Inside the Firm, Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell spilled some of the odd demands 69-year-old Charles makes of royal staff.

“His pyjamas are pressed every morning, his shoe laces are pressed flat with an iron, the bath plug has to be in a certain position, and the water temperature has to be just tepid,” Burrell said.

Charles even “has his valets squeeze one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush every morning.”

What the heck.

Why.

But you guys, that's not even the most bizarre part.

Burrell also said one one occasion he received an unexpected phone call from the Prince: "He rang me from his library and he said, 'Oh Paul, a letter from the Queen seems to have fallen into my wastepaper bin. Would you pick it out?'"

Most of these claims were backed up in a book by royal biographer Brian Hoey.

Hoey's book also said nothing Charles or his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall wear is ever allowed to touch a washing machine... Yep,everythingthey wear is hand washed.

Now, of course there's going to be perks to royalty ( Meghan Markle's wardrobe springs to mind), but I'm okay with chucking my clothes in a washing machine and squeezing my own toothpaste.

Earlier this year The Sun reported a source saying many royal staff have a "tense" relationship with him and consider him difficult to work for...

Charles' demands do seem alittlebit over the top... But hey, he's the future king, what are you going to do? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
