The best new movies to watch on Prime Video during the summer holidays.

Silly season is here and there's nothing more we need right now than a bloody great movie.

Sure, the summer holidays are about spending time at the beach and catching up with our loved ones, but it's also about cosying up with a blanket (while the aircon is raging) and watching a good ol' film.

Luckily for us, Prime Video has more than enough to entertain us over the summer holidays.

Watch the trailer for Call Jane. Post continues after video.

Here are the six movies we suggest you queue up to watch this summer.

In a post-Roe v Wade world, Call Jane is set in 1968 and feels disturbingly familiar.

Elizabeth Banks plays Joy, a housewife living in the idyllic suburbs who is overjoyed when she finds out she is pregnant. Things sour when the pregnancy becomes a threat to her own life.

In the film, Sigourney Weaver stars as Virginia and the story centres around Joy calling 'Jane' for help to get an abortion.

Of course, the film draws inspiration from the real-life Janes but is not a historical retelling of the Chicago-based women's collective.

Nothing says summer holidays like a rom-com filmed in the dead of winter in none other than New York City.

Something From Tiffany's focuses on Rachel (Zoey Deutch) who is happy enough with her boyfriend Gary (Ray Nicholson) but isn't quite ready to commit to marriage.

On the other hand, Kendrick Sampson and Shay Mitchell star as Ethan and Vanessa, who are about to deep-dive into the world of wedding planning.

Except there is one issue when Rachel gets an engagement ring that is not actually meant for her.

The People We Hate At The Wedding

The People We Hate At The Wedding is the perfect adult-comedy and stars Kristen Bell, Ben Platt and Cynthia Addai-Robinson.

The story follows a trio of strained siblings named Eloise, Alice and Paul. They are reunited when Eloise announces she is getting married and wants her brother and sister at the wedding. Begrudgingly, they oblige.

Possible romance blossoms when Alice flies to London to watch her sister wed and meets Dennis (Dustin Milligan).

While it's the perfect setup for a rom-com, this movie is far from romantic and instead has a smart, funny twist on sibling rivalry that will put you in the right mood.

If you're looking for a time travelling romance film that stars the manic pixie boyfriend of your dreams, then look no further than Meet Cute.

In the film, Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson star as Sheila and Gary, who are forced to relive the same night over and over again. The only catch is – neither of them has any memory of this morbid fact.

And without even realising it, Sheila sets on a mission to find the man of her dreams and fix her life.

The film centres around the young and in love students who are parting ways at a train station before they head off to their respective family homes for Christmas.

But one split-second decision changes everything for the pair when they both decide to swap trains and surprise each other.

In Your Christmas Or Mine, family truths are revealed, an awkward holiday season is guaranteed and two star-crossed lovers are shown they still have a lot to learn about each other.
