We have a card game emergency, people.
It turns out we’ve been playing UNO all wrong.
You see, there’s this little white booklet included with the game, and in that little white booklet it clearly states a rule that we’ve all been blatantly ignoring for approximately 98534 years.
And now LaToya McCaskill Stallings, a very clever UNO-enthusiast and the people’s saviour, has brought it to our attention.
“So it’s taken me 35 years on this earth to realise that I’ve been playing UNO wrong since I was a kid,” she begins.
LaToya goes on to explain that you can only play the Draw 4 Wild card if you have no other cards that can be played.
“And if you suspect that someone has illegally played this card, they have to show you their hand,” she says.
“And if they, in fact, played the card illegally they must draw 4, but if not, the person who challenged the play must draw 6.”
So yeah, weekend BBQ’s and that weird time after Christmas lunch will never be the same.
LaToya’s post has already been shared almost 120,000 times, with many people coming to the conclusion that they’ve been making a terrible, terrible mistake.
“OMG I had noooooo idea!” one person replied on Facebook, “Mind officially blown!”
“What? I’ve been playing this wrong my whole life,” wrote another.
While others were prepared to take their UNO rule breaking ways to the grave.
“Well damn I been playing wrong,” commented another player, “but I’m not switching it up.”
“Lies all lies…… I use it when I want to… who those instructions think they are telling me i have to HOLD my fav card,” added someone else.
