It’s a perfect reminder to all mums that the body you have was worth it.
The 26-year-old still has her days when she looks in the mirror and wishes she could see her abs again. Days that some mums have every now and then.
Earlier this year Henderson posted a photo of her ‘perfect’ post baby body to Facebook and it received over 11,000 shares and over 115,000 likes (we wrote about it here). Now her latest photos is heading in the same direction.
Here is her latest photo:
The story behind the image is one almost all mums can relate to. She wrote, "This evening after I got out of the shower and was getting dressed I happened to glance in the mirror and kinda sighed and thought dang what I would give to see my abs again."
Henderson describes the thought process as a 'pity me moment', going on to say 'we all have our days'.
"Right after I was having my pity me moment...my 2-year-old grabbed my leg and pulled on my shorts for me to kiss her...And it was that second she reminded me that every imperfection on my belly was worth having sweet moments like that! #lovetheskinyourin," she continued.
Henderson gained a huge online following in December last year, after she did a beautiful cover of Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know that went viral.
And now the young mum is using her profile to make a positive impact on all mums.
The most recent photo follows on from this one, that she posted in June.
Henderson posted the photo to her Facebook page to show everyone that her 'perfect' post baby body had its flaws too. And that she'd struggled with the way she looked after birth for a long time, but knew it was time to appreciate the body she had.
“Just reminding you guys… That your body is beautiful… BECAUSE we ARE mums and we ARE superheroes and we freakin ROCK and in my opinion that is sexier than any 6 pack!” She captioned the image.
Speaking to The Huffington Post, she said, “She was inspired to post the photo in response to the many comments she often receives from fans and friends about how ‘perfect’ her post-baby body was. Because of my thin figure people don’t think I have imperfections or insecurities. I wanted to show other women that I am just like them — stretch marks, loose skin.”
We love Henderson's message and when we're having one of those 'pity me' moments, we'll look at out kids and remember exactly why stretch marks and loose skin are worth it.
