Paula Joye shares the best no-BS wardrobe spring cleaning tricks we've heard.

Style queen Paula Joye recently appeared on the Today show with some very important information for anyone with a wardrobe.

Joye gave us all the nudge we needed to spring clean the sh*t out of our cupboards. Some practical, no-BS advice owners of 74 bubble skirts definitely need to hear.

Step one: Make three piles.

It’s time to sort everything into three piles: what to toss, what to donate, and what to sell.

“Obviously donation needs to be in good condition, and selling in slightly better condition again. But if you do that, you’ll find that you’ll have a whole lot more space to put your spring wardrobe together,” Joye explained.

Step two: get selling.

Joye recommends new social media platform Carousel, where you can list, bid, and win items in under 30 seconds. It’s also a smartphone and tablet-based app, which makes it super, super easy.

Another option, as I discovered over the weekend, is to hold a stand at your local markets. I turned up at 7am last weekend, and sold off two bags of old clothes I hadn’t worn in years.

By the time I left at 2pm, I was almost $500 richer (and two bags of clothes lighter). WIN!

So, instead of rifling through winter jackets and low-rise jeans from a decade ago this weekend, why not take a few hours to do a solid spring clean?

Your wardrobe will feel lighter, and if all goes well – your wallet a bit heavier, too.

Your spring cleaning type according to star sign.
