Patrick Dangerfield a father-to-be, as Geelong star uses TV announcer to voiceover big Twitter reveal

Brownlow Medallist Patrick Dangerfield has shown his social media prowess, enlisting some high-profile help for a video announcing an impending addition to his family.

The Geelong star has posted a video on Twitter, using Channel Seven sports MC Craig Willis to make his announcement.

The man from Moggs Creek – who won the 2016 Brownlow Medal as the AFL’s best and fairest in a canter after a brilliant season – is no stranger to social media.

Dangerfield sent the message on Monday afternoon, sharing an ultrasound video with his 83,600 Twitter followers.

“Patrick and Mardi are proud to announce a new Dangerfield for 2017 – and I’m feeling Craig is the perfect name,” said Willis – who is the Master of Ceremonies at the AFL Grand Final.

“This ultrasound has been brought to you by the obstetrician … in association with the bedroom.”

The announcement will doubtless excite Adelaide fans, since the Crows’ former number 32 played 154 games for the club – more than enough to qualify a future son under the AFL’s father-son rules.

Of course, Cats fans will be hoping the star midfielder plays another 76 games for Geelong, to qualify Dangerfield’s current club for a similar chance to draft any future progeny.
