I had an affair with a woman I worked with. While the sex was good the decision to engage with her was utterly devastating to me emotionally. I never disclosed that it had happened. I worked through it with a friends support. Despite falling off the wagon with her a few times more. However in terms of pain, it was singularly the worst decision of my life. And years later, despite not being with my then partner anymore, it remains the single biggest regret of my life, producing a shame reaction that was beyond anything I thought possible.
