Paris Jackson has called out a Melbourne newspaper for a story on her Melbourne Cup Day appearance which featured the insulting headline, ‘WACKO JACKO 2.0’.
The 19-year-old attended the horse racing event with her friend, Gold Coast model Tyler Green, and was photographed at one point poking her tongue out and pressing her face against a window.

A story in the Herald Sun’s Confidential section featured this photo along with a headline Paris, daughter of Michael Jackson, took offence to. The teen shared her anger with a tweet to followers on Wednesday, tagging the journalists she held responsible.
When asked by a fan what had caused her distress, Paris shared a screenshot of the newspaper and explained that it was the ‘Wacko Jacko’ reference – a nickname her dad often copped from the media.
Myer reportedly paid the Shaman healer apprentice $100,000 to attend the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday.
According to Melissa Singer of Fairfax Media, Paris was lined up to wear a red creation by Australian fashion icon Alex Perry, but “wasn’t a fan” of the design.
Instead, Jackson arrived at the event in a rust-coloured, sleeved dress by Morrison – another Aussie, Myer-stocked label – which she paired with a crystal headpiece by Ann Shoebridge and her own heeled desert boots.
However, there were no hard feelings from Perry, who shared a photo of the pair together on Instagram along with a heartfelt caption.
“Loved meeting this beautiful girl today,” the designer wrote. “More beautiful and genuine in person than I could imagine.”

I've never understood this thing of having an overseas celebrity invited to our national race day, and made a fuss of in the media. Cultural cringe? How about the Australian of the year instead?
Oh and Myer could put that $ 100,000money into making their website easier to use. Or reducing their prices. Amazon is coming.
