Oprah Winfrey is Hollywood's highest-paid celebrity

For the fourth year in a row, Oprah Winfrey is the highest-paid celebrity in Hollywood. The real question is whether she can hold that title for a fifth year, though.

Forbes magazine has calculated that Oprah has made $165 million between May 2011 and May 2012. The media mogul has faced a number of setbacks with her branded TV station OWN that she launched back in January 2011. It hasn't performed quite the way she wanted, and Oprah has put her heart and soul – and life savings – into making the network be everything she wants it to be. But between that and the fact that she ended her time with The Oprah Winfrey Show, Forbes is reporting that her earnings dropped $125 million in the past year.

That's a big loss, though Oprah still managed to earn the top spot on the list thanks to residual incomes from The Oprah Winfrey Show and the money she makes from O: The Oprah Magazine, The Dr. Oz Show and her radio deal with Sirius. The syndicated money she makes from The Oprah Winfrey Show won't be counted into her income for next year's list though, so there's a chance some other Hollywood heavyweight could take the crown from Oprah.

Coming in a close second is Michael Bay, who only made $5 million less than Oprah over this past year. His $160 million income is largely thanks to Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which made an impressive $1.1 billion in the worldwide box office. Bay also is getting some profits from Transformers: The Ride, which opened at Universal Hollywood earlier this year.

The next few names on this list shouldn't come as big surprises, as these celebrities tend to produce every popular movie and TV show that's come out in the past few years. Steven Spielberg lands at number three with $130 million, Jerry Bruckheimer comes in at number four with $115 million and Tyler Perry lands at number six with $105 million. But Dr. Dre, who snuck in to number five with $110 million, is the surprise success this year. He ended up making around $100 million from HTC's purchase of 51 percent of the rights to his successful Beats by Dr. Dre headphone line, thus earning him the high spot on the list.

Rounding out the top 10 are Howard Stern at number seven with $95 million, author James Patterson at number eight with $94 million, George Lucas and Simon Cowell who tied at number nine with $90 million, and Glenn Beck at number 10 with $80 million.

Interestingly enough, the only other woman on the list was Britney Spears, who clocked in at number 19 with $58 million.
