One man is dead and a man and a woman have been rushed to Liverpool hospital after a shooting just after midday at Sydney’s Bankstown shopping centre.
Widespread hysteria and chaos were reported after eight shots were fired.
At least six ambulances arrived at the scene alongside police cars, but no arrests have been made at this stage.
The condition of the people in hospital is unknown, but witnesses say both were conscious as they were stretchered into the ambulance.
The alleged gunman is still at large, and the motivation behind the attacks is unknown.
A crime scene has been established, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
