Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. And in honour of the occasion, Spanish fashion label Desigual decided to surprise us all with… a bizarre ad that shows a woman casually doing a kind-of-really-psycho thing.

In the commercial, an attractive young woman checks herself out in the mirror, pops a pillow up her top to see what she’d look like pregnant and dreamily smiles at her reflection.

So far, so cute.

But then.

THEN.

Take a look:

Just so we’re clear, tricking people into having babies isn’t alright. A

nd if Desigual thought this commercial had some sort of charming “we’ve all been there” appeal, it massively missed the mark.

As The Gloss so eloquently wrote: “The cute shrug at the end has me convinced she is a sociopath. What is this person doing? Did I start watching an episode of Dexter by accident? I do not want to buy anything this ad is selling.”

Well said.
