The Melbourne Cup might be ‘the race that stops the nation’, but Oaks Day is when fashion takes first place.

Known traditionally as ‘ladies’ day’, the focus shifts to what all the racegoers are wearing and the winners of the national final of the Myer Fashions on the Field Competition are announced.

Although the weather has been gloomy in Melbourne today, our favourite Aussie celebrities have shone through with their bright, fresh looks.  As for their make-up, it’s all about the glow, contouring, and nude lips.

Here’s a taste of the stylish looks on show at Oaks Day this year. (Post continues after video.)

A nice follow-up to her 60s-inspired Melbourne Cup frock, style queen Bec Judd wore an off-the-shoulder white and blue form-fitting dress and a pink fascinator with a blue butterfly detail. Makeup-wise, Jodd rocked an edgy smoky eye and, as usual, her contour was en pointe.

Jennifer Hawkins complemented her form-fitting white dress with nude-lips, a subtle highlight and smoky eyeliner. To top it off, her gorgeous beach waves were adorned with a crown of gorgeous white flowers.

Weather presenter and model Scherri-Lee Biggs wore a stunning pink dress with mesh details, a look she completed with a sleek up-do with a gold fascinator. We loved her earthy eyeshadow and nude lip.
