But in a move guaranteed to make you think otherwise, an American news station has responded to the shock loss of a rival’s sports anchor in pretty much the best way possible.

Bob Barry Jr, a stalwart of sports broadcasting in Oklahoma, died suddenly in a motorbike accident last weekend when a man in a car struck him, The Washington Post reports.

The man, who allegedly made an illegal u-turn, has been charged with manslaughter and drug possession.

The death of the popular sports nut shocked his colleagues to the core.

And, in a surprising show of generosity and basic human kindness, rival station KOCO has offered to staff KFOR’s newsroom during Barry Jr’s funeral today so his colleagues can attend.

Kind of restores your faith in humanity a little bit, doesn’t it?
