I had a very hard day at the office last week, doing some very serious things. By this, I mean swatchin' and sniffin' my way through the newest beauty launches at House of Sephora.
For the unaware, House of Sephora is a biannual showcase where top beauty brands pull out all the stops to preview their upcoming releases.
It's essentially a massive beauty playground where creators, media, and beauty junkies get to test formulas and sample everything landing on shelves soon.

Marc Jacobs Beauty.
Set your alarms! In case you've been having a snooze, Marc Jacobs Beauty is officially BACK, dropping at Sephora this week! The new line-up is bold, playful, and packed with the vibrant colours and luxe, high-performance formulas we've all been desperately missing.
If you want to know what to try first, the Born Star Eyeshadow is my pick. It's $48 and has a beautiful cream-to-powder texture. Bouncy, buttery and the perfect kind of formula for on-the-go, all-with-your-finger kinda application.
MERIT Beauty.
Yes, the whispers are true! Merit is launching in Sephora at the end of September, and it feels like a bloody treat. You can obviously already buy everything online here, but it just means no more mucking around, guessing your shades and relying on ChatGPT! Yay!
Their range is stunning, minimalist, and makes everyday makeup feel completely effortless. Think capsule makeup at its absolute best.
My faves are the Flush Balms ($48). They're so creamy and literally melt into your skin, offering the perfect pop of colour.
This stuff will sell out the second it drops in Aus — you heard (read?) it here first!
Milk Makeup Line & Fill Contour, $38.
I am a BIG fan of everything sticks, and these Lip & Fill newbies from Milk Makeup are just so creamy and wonderful. It's like a hybrid lip liner and colour in one, and makes it easy to create a polished look in just a few swipes (especially as someone who has five minutes to get ready). Already in love!
Olaplex Shine Serum Oil Mist, $70.
Think of this as the ultimate two-in-one hybrid for dull hair. It blends a bond-building repair serum with lightweight oils in a fine, bi-phase spray. It delivers instant, glass-like shine and deep hydration without making your hair feel greasy or weighed down.
Oily girls, you can get in on the fun too!
Le Monde Gourmand.
Have you heard of them yet? This brand-new fragrance label makes some of the most stunning scents I've ever smelled. And the best part is, they're actually affordable. Every bottle comes in under $50!
Lait De Coco Eau De Parfum was a stand-out for me. It smells beachy, soft and light. Perfect for spring.
It Cosmetics Do It All Tinted Face Balm, $65.
Yes, but you simply must know I've been waiting for this tinted face balm for 72 years, and it makes me SO EXCITED it's finally here. I've heard very good things, particularly for those with dry skin.
It's supposed to do lots of nice stuff, like hydrate and nourish the skin while making sure you get good coverage without product chilling in your fine lines and wrinkles. I'll be first in line to snap it up!
BYOMA Peptide Serum, $36.
I'd seen this getting around and was so keen to test it out. I fully expected a traditional creamy formula, but the texture is actually much more like a light gel?? It glides on and melts straight into the skin without feeling heavy. It creates the ultimate hydrating base under foundation, and at an affordable $36, it's a total win for your morning routine.
It hits shelves September 1st, so keep your eyes peeled!
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Fluid Flex Natural Matte Foundation, $76.
As a die-hard fan of Fenty's Eaze Drop Skin Tint, I was so hyped to try their new foundation. Maybe a wee bit too hyped, actually. I scrambled into a chair for a shade match, grabbed the makeup desk, and managed to tip the entire thing over. Obscene amount of embarrassment aside, I got matched to shade 15GN, and it was an instant winner.
It's buildable, lightweight, and leaves a natural matte finish (which says a lot coming from someone who usually hates matte formulas. This one is completely non-drying). Tested it the next day, and it powered through a full workday plus the chaotic 5 to 6 pm toddler wrangling hour without budging. Great success.

Paula's Choice Pro Collagen Peptide Plumping Intensive Moisturiser, $74.
This newbie from Paula's Choice is beautifully rich and nourishing and perfect for dry-skinned lizards like me. It's rich, but sinks in instantly to deliver deep hydration to stressed and tired skin (again, me), locking in moisture that actually lasts.
