More Gilmore Girls episodes could be coming our way. Everybody remain calm.

Fans left frustrated by the cliffhanger ending of Gilmore Girls’ 2016 reboot A Year In The Life may just get the answers they’ve been looking for.

Yep, hold on to your remotes, because Netflix boss Ted Sarandos says more episodes of the much-loved series could be making their way to our screens.

Sarandos, the streaming service’s chief content officer, spoke about the possibility of expanding on last year’s four-part special in an interview with the UK’s Press Association.

“We obviously loved the success of the show, fans loved how well it was done, it delivered what they hoped,” he said.

Sarandos said talks with Gilmore Girls‘ creators, Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino, were “very preliminary”, but they hoped to convince the duo to continue the series.

“The worst thing is to wait a couple of years for your favourite show to come back and for it to disappoint you, but they sure delivered and people were really excited about more and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that,” he added.

Fans of the original series about a fast-talking mother and daughter, which ran from 2000 to 2007, were thrilled when Netflix announced it was producing a four-episode reboot.

Actresses Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel brought Lorelai and Rory Gilmore back to our screens for A Year in the Life, which dropped on Netflix in November last year.

It was a wait many fans considered worth it — but not all of them were pleased.

No word on what format new episodes might take, but here's hoping we don't have to wait another nine years to see more of the Gilmore girls and our favourite Stars Hollow residents.
