It's that time of the month again, friends... beauty round-up time! And golly, do we have a good one in store for you? (We do!).

The Mamamia team have tried and tested plenty of new skincare, makeup, hair and body products this May — and we're just itching to share all our much-loved recommendations with you.

Because, as we were all taught from a young age, good beauty girls don't gatekeep products that actually work.

Before we get into it, listen to Mamamia's daily beauty podcast, You Beauty. Post continues after audio.

Here you’ll find reviews of the best beauty products that launched in May 2024, as well as the old favourites we’ve rediscovered and fallen back in love with.

Let's go!

Flower Beauty Get Real Serum Foundation, $8.39.

"Say hello to my new everyday foundation. It's one of those formulas that's perfect for everyday wear. You can literally just slap it on with your fingers and blend out. It's pretty sheer (it says it's light to medium coverage, but it's leanin' hard on the 'light'!), but has a lovely smooth, buildable texture. I wrote a whole article on it here." - Erin Docherty, Beauty & Health Editor.

Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Hair Styling Spray, $64.

"This bottle is worth its weight in gold. When I’m wanting to style my hair and get rid of frizz, I use this product. It’s heat activated, so I spray it on damp towel-dried hair and then it works wonders after I've given my hair a bit of a blow dry." - Isabella Ross, Senior News Writer.

L'Oréal Paris Lumi Glotion, $19.99.

Image: Supplied.

"Yes! L'Oréal's cult formula is FINALLY here. You can wear it alone for an all-over radiant glow, mix it with foundation, use it to bronze and sculpt your face or as a highlighter. You can even mix it with moisturiser and use it on your body, for beautifully radiant limbs. Love." - Erin Docherty, Beauty & Health Editor.

IS Clinical Active Peel System Pads, $165.

Image: Supplied.

"One of my upcoming guests on the You Beauty podcast raved about these peel pads, so I gave them a whirl — and goodness. I'm annoyed I didn't try these sooner. If you're a fan of Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads, you're going to bloody love these. Dare I say, even a little bit more.

"It's a powerful yet gentle (I had no issues with my sensitive face!) two-step treatment that both exfoliates dull skin and boosts hydration. The result? Plump, glowy and incredibly healthy-looking skin. I've been using them once a week — and I'm officially obsessed. Pricey, but game-changing if your skin is in need of a serious refresh." - Erin Docherty, Beauty & Health Editor.

Ohh My Glo Face Tan Water, $24.99.

Image: Supplied.

"This face tan water was a godsend when I was on holiday recently. I prefer fake tanning as it’s safer than sun damage, and this formula was perfect - super portable and easy to use when I was travelling. Plus the natural glow it provided was top notch." - Isabella Ross, Senior News Writer.

Aesthetics Rx® Skincare Microbiome Balancing Mist, $69.

"The Microbiome Balancing Mist from Aesthetics Rx is my winter skin saviour! It is super lightweight but provides incredible hydration, leaving your skin with a beautiful glow. I spritz it on my face multiple times a day when I’m needing a little refresh." - Lisa Panetta, Brand Partnerships Executive.

The Ordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner, $24.

Image: Supplied.

"If you're a fan of The Ordinary, I have some good news. The brand just dropped this newbie - and it's really, very good. Not only is it calming and soothing on my skin, but it packs a punch when it comes to improving the tone and texture of my skin, without upsetting my barrier." - Erin Docherty, Beauty & Health Editor.

Go-To Very Amazing Retinal, $85.

Image: Supplied.

Go-To finally gave us the product we've been asking for — a vitamin A serum. Hurrah! Promising to visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles and increase elasticity and skin smoothness, it's beautifully gentle and non-irritating (even on sensitive skin). I've been using it for the past couple of weeks and while it's still too early to tell in terms of results, I have noticed my skin looks a lot clearer and more even (less redness and breakouts). Excited to keep using it!" - Erin Docherty, Beauty & Health Editor.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Big Lip Plumpgasm, $54.

Image: Supplied.

"I'm HOOKED on this newbie from Charlotte Tilbury. It gives you beautifully plump, full and high-shine glossy lips in that signature 'Pillow Talk' shade. It has a minty, tingling effect while it's working its magic for an instantly better pout. Worn with a little bit of lip liner, over the top of lipstick or even by itself, it's my new go-to." - Erin Docherty, Beauty & Health Editor.

The Dermal Therapy Very Dry Face Cream, $18.99.

"The Dermal Therapy Very Dry Face Cream is my new favourite find, it’s super affordable but provides intense hydration for all skin types. As a sensitive skin girl this is going to be on heavy rotation this winter." - Lisa Panetta, Brand Partnerships Executive.

Glasshouse Fragrances Eager For Espresso, $59.95.

If you're a fan of tiramisu — this is right up your alley! This latest launch from Glasshouse Fragrances features notes of brown sugar, hot coffee and vanilla smoky woods (I'm drooling just writing this!) and is the perfect sugar-coated winter treat!" - Erin Docherty, Beauty & Health Editor.

Valentino Born in Roma Green Stravaganza Eau De Toilette, $125.

Image: Supplied.

"I need you to know that I cannot stop wearing or sniffing this fragrance. It's SO GOOD. There's a lighter, female version, but this bold, powerful EDT has me in a chokehold. With notes of Calabrian bergamot and coffee, it smells vibrant, energetic and insanely addictive. My new 'going out' scent." - Erin Docherty, Beauty & Health Editor.

Holme Beauty Empower Duette, $79.

Image: Supplied.

"Holme Beauty has delivered yet again with their new luxurious powder. I'm not usually a powder girl because I'm dry-skinned and too scared - but this is a game-changer. Perfect for a soft, dewy look, it doesn't cling to dry patches or make your face feel thirsty and weird. It's beautifully lightweight, luminous and elevates any makeup look." - Erin Docherty, Beauty & Health Editor.
