Singer Katy Perry recently graced our Instagram feeds with a cheeky butt shot after lover Orlando Bloom bared all on their holiday.

It got us thinking about Perry in general: her high life, pop-stardom, and the trackRoar.

The popstar wrote the song while dealing with her 2011 divorce from Russell Brand.

She told BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, “It’s a bit of a self-empowering type of song. I wrote it because I was sick of keeping all these feelings inside and not speaking up for myself, which caused a lot of resentment.”

We hear Perry belt out the line, “I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar!” throughout the song.

Empowering words. Yes. But does Perry ever really roar?
