"Taylor nooooo, what are you doing?!"

That's exactly what I found myself screaming at my television last weekend.

I was sitting on the edge of my couch, pillow over my face, crashing out over a nanny named Taylor and her stress-inducing workplace choices.

Hours earlier, I had been scrolling for a show to watch and clicked into Disney's new reality show Million Dollar Nannies.

The cover art — featuring a group of highly-airbrushed nannies dressed in pink uniforms with babies strapped to their chests — looked just odd enough to catch my attention.

"This looks terrible, I'll watch a few minutes to see what it's all about," I thought to myself.

Except I never stopped watching.

That's how I became acquainted with my personal friend Taylor and her affinity for drama.

She's one of the eight "elite nannies" featured in the reality show, who have been brought together by Leah — a nanny who has worked for celebrity clients and apparently has connections to the Kardashian family — to form an agency for high-profile (read: mega wealthy) families.

The show is built around Leah's dream to build the agency using her "Rolodex" of high-profile clients but it all spins into chaos from there.

You'd think for a show about nannies, it would revolve around, well, nannying and, while it does, the nannies seem to spend about 45 minutes actually working. The rest of the show delves into the nannies' personal drama as well as the truly baffling lives of the families they work for.

It's like Below Deck but take the millionaires off the fancy boats and give them a couple of children instead.

All the nannies are staying together in a big house in Ibiza. Those who have landed contracts head off for work during the days, while those who haven't yet been hired or have been fired (more on that later), lounge around by the pool drinking cocktails and complaining about the fact that they don't have any work.

Other times they're squirrelling away in different corners of the house to gossip about other nannies or flat out starting a fight in the middle of dinner because of something someone may have said or done.

It's Armageddon when Taylor messes up at work and gets fired, then rehired on the same day after leaving her client's kids with another nanny to go start an argument with her boyfriend on the beach. Her boyfriend, by the way, is also a nanny. Well, a "manny" per the show.

She cops an earful from her client about being professional — fair enough. Then cops another earful from Leah — in front of all the nannies — when she gets home.

It's honestly amazing how comfortable all these people seem to be with confrontation. I simply could never.

The drama reaches fever pitch when all the nannies find out that Leah once slept with a dad she was nannying for. Scandal! He was single and a friend of hers, she insists, but still.

All the nannies are worried about what this will mean for the agency if it gets out, so they decide to keep it under wraps. But, of course, a certain someone *cough* Taylor *cough* tattles to her client — the one who fired her the day before — and word spreads. Cue me screaming at the TV screen. It all comes to a head and Leah's job ends up on the line.

And that's just the nannies. The families are a whole other beast entirely.

First up: the Guiribitey family, also referred to as "The Gs". Camila and Juan Carlos Izquierdo are dentists based in Miami, worth more than $500 million, according to the series.

Camila and her mother, Taty, set out to hire nannies for their children, Alma and Aurora. Juan isn't involved in the hiring process, of course — I mean, why would he, he's just their dad?

The mother and daughter duo put the nannies through a gruelling interview process. They ask if they know which designer brands make prams and test their chopstick abilities — with a pair of Louis Vuitton chopsticks, naturally. They even hassled one of the nannies, asking why she was wearing such a revealing top for the interview. The top in question: a pretty average v-neck denim shirt.

Eventually, they hire two nannies — Sydney, the denim shirt-wearer, and Leah — who they then require to wear neutral-coloured scrubs to keep them from looking too attractive in the house and catching the eye of Camila's husband. Yep, gross.

Another family — made up of three gay dads and their two children — are looking for nannies who can help with their spray tans as well as childcare. Meanwhile, another mum has a very regimented routine for her two sons which includes a bird call to keep the peace in the house.

As she interviews two of the nannies, she caws like a bird and her two kids — in matching outfits — appear as if out of thin air. Then she asks the nannies to show them their best bird call, which they do without hesitation. Yep … I'll leave you with that.

I started watching this show as a bit of a joke and somehow lost an entire weekend to it.

Now, I can't stop recommending it to everyone I know.
