Convicted drug offender Michelle Leslie questioned by officers at LA airport.

Michelle Leslie, the former Australian model convicted of Indonesian drug offences 2005, was questioned at Los Angeles International Airport while travelling with singer boyfriend Daniel Johns over the weekend.

According to footage captured for 7 News, the 36-year-old was escorted into an interview room by US officials after encountering problems at an automated immigration kiosk on Saturday.

The reason for her detainment is unclear, although according to Channel 9, she was interviewed for approximately 20 minutes before being granted entry to the US.

Leslie, who now runs an event company in Sydney, spent three months in Bali's notorious Kerobokan prison in 2005 after being convicted of using a prohibited substance.

Police had caught the then 24-year-old carrying two ecstasy pills in her handbag while on the way to a dance party.

Her arrest came within 12 months of those of Schapelle Corby and the so-called 'Bali Nine', and prompted a warning from then Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, that Australians caught with drugs "can't expect the Government to bail them out."

Leslie and Johns are yet to comment on the weekend's events.

The couple appeared to go public with their relationship in May, after the 38-year-old Silverchair frontman shared a picture of them together to Instagram.

It's believed they have been dating since October last year.
