Singer Michelle Branch just announced her engagement to a major rock star.

Musician and early 2000s icon Michelle Brand has announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend and The Black Keys rocker Patrick Carney on Monday night, sharing a loved-up Instagram post about her husband-to-be.

“Thank you for all the birthday love and wishes. Last night, right before I blew out my candles, @officerpatrickcarney asked me to marry him and then I had nothing left to wish for,” Brand wrote, adding, “34 might be the best year yet.”

Carney is one-half of iconic Ohio rock band and helped Branch co-produce her latest album, Hopeless Romantic.

Sharing a black and white photo of the couple kissing in April, Branch wrote, “When it’s midnight in NYC and the record you’ve made together is officially out. Patrick, I couldn’t have done this without you.”

Following the release of her album, Branch – who rose to fame with her 2001 hit Everywhere – told PEOPLE Magazine, “I’d never had someone who was that supportive. He’s an amazing, amazing human.”

Of their relationship, she added, “We both just jumped in with both feet.”

The couple began dating in 2015 after meeting at a Grammys afterparty in Los Angeles. At the same time, Branch was going through a divorce with her ex-husband Teddy Landau. The couple has one child together, a daughter, 11-year-old Owen.

Carney, who has spent much of the past two decades touring the world with his critically acclaimed band has previously been married twice, first to Emily Ward and later Denise Grollmus.
