Michael Turnbull's message to Sam Frost: "I have feelings too."

We may be two seasons down when it comes to the Australian version of The Bachelorette, but that doesn’t mean last year’s runner-up, Michael Turnbull, is over the heartbreak.

The 35-year-old had quite a bit to say when he was a guest on the final Bach Chat podcast, admitting he was still a little upset with Sam Frost.

Why? Well, it’s got a lot to do with this year’s Bachelor, Richie Strahan.

Listen to Michael talk about his experiences on the final ep of Bach Chat:

Michael revealed that he was originally in the running to be our second Aussie bachelor, when he was swapped out for Blake Garvey at the last minute.

So, why wasn’t he considered for the 2016 season?

“Sam Frost was, for whatever reason, a big Richie fan,” he said.

“She came out saying that Richie was her real second choice and she didn’t want to hurt his feelings by bringing him to the finale. I was like, ‘Wait, hang on a second, I’ve got feelings too! You took me to the end and then dumped me!'”

Michael said that Frost being a “big advocate” for Richie played a huge role in making him the next Bachelor.

“Sam’s got her reasons, and I respect those reasons. But Richie’s done a good job, he’s found a wonderful woman…and I’m glad he was The Bachelor, he was very good.”

Despite the disappointment of missing out on Sam Frost’s heart AND failing to make the cut to be the next Bachelor, Turnbull said he “wouldn’t change a thing” about the experience.

“I really enjoyed my experience and time there,” he said.

“I got to meet Sam, she’s a wonderful woman and I made some very close friends. It really was a win-win for everybody.”
