Renovations are well underway at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new home Frogmore Cottage – including to one very important room: the nursery.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the upgrades happening to the cottage on the Windsor Estate and by the sounds of it, the royal baby will have a very stylish bedroom (of course).

“They’ve decided not to find out the sex,” Nicholl said, “but according to sources who are helping with renovations, the nursery itself is going to be very modern.

“Don’t expect to see any baby pink or baby blue. Apparently, it’s going to be a monochrome palette – whites and greys, I’m told, will be the colour theme for baby Sussex’s nursery.”

Monochrome nurseries have become increasingly popular as parents reject the traditional ‘pink for girls’ and ‘boy for boys’ colour palette.

Earlier this week, Meghan reportedly told fans she and Harry would find out the sex of their new addition in the delivery room (as well as letting slip the due date).

According to Nicholl, Meghan is loving her pregnancy, telling friends it is the most exciting, happy period in her life.

Kensington Palace announced in November the couple will be moving out of the Kensington Palace estate to Frogmore Cottage before their baby arrives.

Though ‘cottage’ makes it sound small, the building is actually, uh, huge.

Before the renovations began, was it divided into five apartments and was previously used to house members of the royal staff. The renovation will restore it to its former glory and the revamped cottage will include a nursery, a gym, and a yoga studio.

The cottage looks out towards Frogmore House and will require an increase in security before the royal couple moves in.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are already well acquainted with the property, as their engagement photoshoot was held there and so was their private wedding party.
