If your group chat wasn't vibrating off the table during Wednesday night's Married At First Sight dinner party, are you even watching? It was the kind of television that makes you want to crawl under your table and stay there until 2027.

At the centre of the storm was Brook, whose explosive tirade against Stella and Alissa has ignited a firestorm of backlash online. Alongside her was Gia, the season's other resident "mean girl". Bec was swept up in the vitriol, seen laughing with Brook and Gia and even yelling "shut up" across the table at one point.

On Thursday, Bec sat down with Mamamia to talk about the night in question, and how things have changed since then.

Watching yourself back on MAFS is notoriously difficult, but for Bec, seeing the vitriol directed at Stella and Alissa was physically painful.

"It was horrific, it was confronting... it's despicable behaviour," Bec told Mamamia. "I'm furious. I'm so angry I can't even talk."

One of the sources of her rage? Gia. Specifically, the narrative that Bec was part of a common hatred aimed at the other brides.

"She's put words in my mouth saying that we have a common hatred for Alissa and Stella. At no point was that ever said.

"Stella is the most genuine human being ever. Stella has never flirted with anyone's husband, ever," she explained, referring to the rumours she claimed Gia had been spreading about Stella. 

"With Alissa, at the beginning, I was told by Gia and Scott that her and David were talking about my relationship, saying I was fake, and so I had a gripe with Alissa at that point. But after getting to know her, she's a great person." 

According to Bec, Gia was effectively roping her in to play the role of the third mean girl. 

"She basically went, 'Oh, who can I rope into being a mean girl with me? Oh, Bec's there, let's do it,'" she explained. 

But when it comes to Brook and Gia's behaviour towards the other women at the dinner party, Bec is not mincing words.

"Of course [it was bullying]. Absolutely. I'm at a loss for words myself. It's just vile," she said. 

"At one point, Stella said, 'Stop barking' and Gia told her to get back in her kennel. Now I'm sorry, didn't Jack Dunkley get absolutely reprimanded for that behaviour a couple of years ago? It's the same thing. It's just horrible to watch. It just makes me really upset. Being on that side of the table, it's mortifying, it's horrific. It's not what I stand for." 

Bec is the first to admit she has regrets about how she handled the seating chart from hell. 

"My regret would be not standing up for Stella and Alissa the way that I stood up for Danny... if I've got a voice for that, then why didn't I have a voice for them?" Bec admitted.

One of the most difficult moments of the night was when Gia accused Bec's husband, Danny, of saying she was his type on a night out. Bec says the reality behind the scenes was much weirder.

She shared that during the break between Intimacy Week and the dinner party, Gia allegedly called her and Danny 40 times in one weekend, desperate for them to meet at Icebergs.

"I was at the pub with Rebecca, Mel, Luke and Danny, and Gia rang us 40 times," she recalled. "Now looking back at it, I'm thinking to myself, have I been played for a fool here? Have you tried to become my friend to get closer to Danny?"

"She's obviously obsessed. I mean, it's giving obsessive energy, isn't it? I mean, she's talked about Danny more than she's talked about her husband. I haven't heard her say one thing about Scott," she said. 

Despite the televised drama, Bec has actually made amends with the other women. In fact, Alissa was at Bec's birthday party last weekend.

However, the toll on Bec's mental health and her marriage to Danny has been "all-time low" territory. Between the friend-zoning at the honeymoon and the rumours that Danny told Gia she was his type in the real world, Bec says she felt "squashed like an ant."

"I believed him, but at the same time when someone says that [it affects you]. We've had sex and then he's friend-zoned me the next day. Then we've worked on it and it's gotten so much better," she said.

"Then this comes out and you feel like an ant that's been squashed by a foot. That's how I felt. It was just awful."

But if there's one thing we know about Bec, she's coming out the other side with her eyes wide open.

"When someone shows you who they are, believe them."
