“Anyone who watches those reality shows and thinks they are real must still believe in the tooth fairy,” Married at First Sight contestant Anthony Manton said in an interview with his TAB radio colleagues yesterday.
According to Confidential, the 33-year-old race caller said the Channel 9 reality TV show was heavily edited to portray him as the “villain”.
“I know I haven’t been portrayed in the best possible light. There’s so much stuff that is edited out,” Manton said. On the show, he is ‘married’ to flight attendant Nadia Stamp, 36.
“There needs to be a villain in these shows, and I happen to be it on Married At First Sight,” he continued.

Anthony if they edited OUT things, I would hate to see what they took out!
I think he's actually quite scary with that sly smile & condescending attitude........
They can't put in words but they can edit context... Can everyone honestly say that you never ever get angry, upset, stern etc?
Personally I find myself generally chilled out but I absolutely lost it the other day when my internet cut out AGAIN stopping our whole household from studying and working - this has been a months long debacle.. Show that on TV & I'd look like a nut case too!
If you take notice they often reuse clips of what people say & do like eye rolls etc throughout the season!
All of these shows should be taken with a grain of salt, they are purely there for ratings, that's it... beautiful moments & stolen kisses for several weeks would absolutely tank in the ratings because people LOOVEEEE DRAMA!
I agree with you. And I think putting people under the pressure of MAFS filming hours and hours a day, they are asking questions and making suggestions to try and hit an "emotional button", re-filming things over and over again (try doing the same thing over and over again and see how it goes!), providing lots of alcohol and keeping them at the diner table till the early hours of the morning, plus re-playing footage and re-using sound-bites, putting together sentences - it's hard to know what they are doing behind the scenes, but I think it behoves us to remember that it is edited and filmed for DRAMA purposes and is not a reflection of real people.
Yeah, but would you lose your shit at the internet company if you knew you were being recorded for a television show?
