When I first started this blog, I wasn’t sure what it should be. I knew I wanted to communicate directly with people (instead of doing it through a magazine or newspaper) and I knew I wanted to engage those people in conversation so it wasn’t just a one-way street. I wanted to hear what other people thought as much as share my own opinions and experiences.
Originally, I assumed I would write about a lot more personal stuff – anecdotes about my life etc. But since at the time I’d just left a stint in an industry – television – that is a magnet for bruising personal gossip in the media, I was a bit gun-shy about all that. Also, I figured it might be boring to anyone outside my immediate house.
Anyway. This year we seem to have developed a groove, you and I. Mamamia is now getting tens of thousands of hits a week and hundreds of comments – every single one of which I read and think about. We’ve established a delightful group of regular commenters (you know who you are and I certainly do) who I cherish.
Mamamia has turned into a diverse mix of stuff….and it’s still evolving day by day. Sometimes, I’ll post something I reckon will ignite comments and it dies in the ass. Other times, I’ll post something I consider quite innocuos and the comments explode. So I thought I should do a bit of market research and ask you what you like best about this blog? What would you like to see more of on Mamamia?
Frockwatch? Politics? Humour? Stupid video clips? Parenthood? Gossip? Gratuitous pecs? Body image? Current affairs & news? Parenthood? My life? Posts about grammar and the correct use of the apostrophe? What lights your fire?
REMEMBER: I’m here to
amuse myself
serve you.So tell me what you want. I’m listening…….
