From the woman who brought us Glitter, which rated an epic 7 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes and was included in the coveted list “The 30 worst Vanity Projects of all time”, comes the television series we’ve all been waiting for.
The trailer for the aptly titled Mariah’s World has been released and we want to cry with excitement.
After much deliberation, we bring you the five most incredible moments from Mariah’s 90 second trailer.
1. The part where Mariah Carey repeats “Hey, it’s Mariah Carey” three times in a row for absolutely no reason. Was she trying to say it in the most convincing way possible? Because… we’re convinced. That’s Mariah Carey alright. She then laughs and we still don’t get it…
2. The part where she assures us that she’s “just like anybody else”. This is the woman who complained that her arm was getting sore from the weight of her engagement ring. Her trailer is littered with images of private jets, booked out arenas, and sparkly dresses. We do not own any sparkly dresses. Mariah, you are not at all like us, but that is precisely why we love you.
3. The part where she says “Can I please f**king focus on the important things?” Oh my God guys…she is so down to earth. Just as a side note, the background music is “Why you so obsessed with me…?”
4. The part where she straight up refers to her wedding as “the most important thing that’s EVER happened”. With a dead pan face. It is clear that Mariah is not joking. Not like the time she repeated her name three times in a row for no reason. No, this is serious. Okay, firstly, her wedding has not yet happened. Let us assure you, everyone would know about it. Secondly, is that what she meant by focusing on the important things? We think yes. Which brings us to point number five…
5. The part where James Packer does not appear once in the entire trailer. Except maybe he is the guy with the blurred face helping her out of or into a private plane. Look, we’re not judging. If we were marrying James Packer, we wouldn’t let him be in our trailer either. But given that their wedding is the most important thing that is ever going to have happened in the history of the whole entire world, we semi expected him to make a cameo.
We. Can’t. Wait.
Mariah’s World doesn’t have a release date yet, but die hard fans (i.e us) are led to believe it will be late this year.
