I’ll kick things off. I’m Aparna and I’m an Editorial Assistant here at Mamamia. Though every day here is a whole lot of fun and an intense learning experience, this week was extra awesome as we had another ‘lunch and learn’ session in the office.

Basically, every week or so, our fabulous boss Mia invites a journalist or media personality into Mamamia HQ, and lets the whole team soak up their wisdom and experience in a Q&A session. And this weeks guest? The lovely Ben Fordham.

He had the whole team captivated telling us about his life as a work experience kid who slowly rose through the ranks to become a renowned journalist and broadcaster.

Let’s just say it was media student heaven.

When I wasn’t busy making faces with the team and Ben, this week I’ve been trying to turn off my mobile/ Skype/ tablet/ all procrastination devices to do some study for my impending (OK, they start tomorrow) uni exams. But it’s all been in vain as I have just discovered the amazing show- ‘Orange Is The New Black’.

I kept hearing rave reviews about it, but just didn’t see the appeal of a show set in a women’s prison. Yet with all my usual shows on their season break, and the idea of having to do some serious study threatening me, I gave it a go. And wow, just wow. IT IS SO BRILLIANT.

I may or may not have just devoured 2 seasons over three nights…
