We know exactly what happened to the Married At First Sight couples after filming ended.

It’s been less than a day since the finale of Married At First Sight aired, and already the concept that “getting fake married to a complete stranger is a good life choice!” has come crashing down in a FIREBALL OF FLAMING DISAPPOINTMENT.

After choosing to stay together at the conclusion of Tuesday night’s season finale, every couple split up shortly after filming.

Yep. All. Of. Them. Including Bella and Michael, who seemed so in love with each other it tears my romantic heart out to think how it went so wrong so quickly.

Each of the couples have spoken to The Fix, and revealed the reasons they each decided to part ways.

Monica and Mark

For these two secret hand-shakers, it seems a lack of real connection spelled the end of their relationship within a week of filming.

"We both went into it with very good intentions…[but] when the cameras stopped rolling, I think it was very clear that we were better just as friends," Monica told The Fix.

A very much single Monica is currently hoping "maybe Prince Charming is out there watching the show and he gets a glimpse of me and contacts me afterwards!"

Keller and Nicole

This seems to be a rockier breakup than Ross and Rachel.

While the couple have been "on and off" for the six months since filming wrapped up, Keller says he's still in love with his fake ex-wife.

"She's the one that I want," he told the publication. "I feel like we are meant to be together, but I don't know if now is the right time."

"I still have heavy, heavy feelings for her, but it's just really hard when she's indecisive. I said to her the other day, 'It's really unfair on me to be going through this – I can't keep going like this'."

Meanwhile, Nicole describes herself as "happily single", and said that when it comes to Keller "there were just some behaviours that I couldn't get past".

On top of being in different stages of their careers, Nicole also said Keller's approach to conflict needs work.

"I did recommend that he sees someone and talk about things, but at the end of the day, that's his decision how he deals with that."

Bella and Michael

The pair who said 'I love you' just days after meeting also called time on their whirlwind romance.

The reason for the breakup was a clash of personalities, said Michael, who cited that Bella is "a natural extrovert, and I'm actually an introvert."

Bella agreed and said that things changed when the cameras were packed away.

"We went in pretty hard and fast and gave it everything we had. Then we got back to our normal lives. It's very different when you're being filming versus not being filmed."

Michael told Mamamia that he and Bella are still on good terms and "speak regularly". Both have also dated other people since the show aired, but currently identify as single.
