It seems Madonna’s prayers have been answered. The famous singer has been given permission to bring an end to the legal action over her 15-year-old son with her former husband Guy Ritchie.
Earlier in the year, the case over Rocco’s custody moved from New York to London, where Ritchie lives. Yet Madonna had requested for legal proceedings launched in England to be ended so that the case can be settled in a New York court.
Mr Justice MacDonald ruled on Monday that they could be halted and the case will now return to New York.
“At the root of these proceedings … is a temporary breakdown in trust,” he said in his ruling. “For all the media coverage, comment and analysis, this is a case born out of circumstances that arise for countless separated parents the world over.”
“I renew, one final time, my plea for the parents to seek, and to find, an amicable resolution to the dispute between them,” he went on.
