All the London attack victims who made it to hospital survived their injuries: report.

Each of the 48 London attack victims who were taken to hospital has survived the injuries they suffered that night, it has been confirmed.

The Evening Standard reported the news, calling it a “medical miracle”.

For those still reeling from the horrific attack on pedestrians on London Bridge and restaurant-goers at nearby Borough Market, that claimed the lives of eight people, it is a much-needed piece of positive news.

The fact 48 lives were saved is no small feat, considering 21 of those admitted to five local hospitals were transported in with critical injuries.

More than 20 of the injured victims remain in hospital, the Standard reports.

King’s College Hospital clinical director of the major trauma Duncan Bew said they treated 15 victims that night.

Listen: In the wake of terror attacks in London, Sydney and Paris, we're beginning to ask; are we suffering from terror fatigue?

"It was very challenging but what we have trained for," he told the Standard.

Bew praised paramedics and police for their rapid response.

"Getting there early to receive them [on admission to the emergency department] was the key, or it would have been different," he said.

"The vital role of public and professional first responders in the chain of survival at the scene is a very significant factor, and they should be praised. No one died who got to hospital.

"We had 15. Some arrived in police cars or vans that ‘scooped and ran’ people from the scene. That decision saved lives. London Ambulance Service also did a fantastic job faced with significant personal risk."
