The question that got this 4-year-old boy kicked out of a doughnut shop.

A 4-year-old boy and his mother have been banned from a doughnut shop in the US after the boy asked another customer if she was pregnant.

(Cue every parent’s heart stopping.)

Rebecca Denham told local news that she was in the store with her son Justin, when he approached a female customer and asked her if “she had a baby in her belly”.

“She said no,” Denham said. “And he said ‘I’m sorry.'”

“And my response was ‘oh my goodness, I’m so embarrassed, I’m so sorry!'”

Apparently the woman took it quite well and said it was no problem.

But the doughnut shop owners were less forgiving.

The next day, when Justin and his mother returned to the store, they were told he was no longer allowed inside.

“I looked around,” Denham said. “Like, him? And she said ‘yeah, he’s rude.'”

Denham tried to explain to her son what had happened, and she said he seems to understand. “Someone got really mad,” Justin told reporters.

Justin and his mum are going to visit a different doughnut shop from now on, and the owners of the store, presumedly sticking by their decision, refused to comment.

So, this whole incident really does beg the question:

Have your kids ever said something they really shouldn’t have? And how did you handle it?
