The Project host Lisa Wilkinson shares her mother, Beryl, has died.

The Project host Lisa Wilkinson has shared on Instagram that her mum, Beryl, has passed away.

The 58-year-old shared an image on social media of her mother and her three children, Billi, Louis and Jake, as babies.

“Farewell to my sweet, beautiful mum, Beryl,” she wrote.

“You were an angel, a fighter, and a devoted mum and grandma right to the end.”

Lisa also added that her mum would now be at “gentle peace”.

Some of Lisa’s high-profile colleagues offered their condolences after learning of the news.

“I am so very sorry to hear Lisa – sending you & the family so much love and strength,” Melissa Hoyer wrote.

“I’m so sorry Lisa. Sending you and your family lots of love. Xx,” tweeted journalist Georgina Dent.

Sally Obermeder shared, “Sending you much love and strength. So sorry for your loss.”

In a 2015 interview with Daily Life, Lisa said her mother had been “shunted between orphanages as a child”, having grown up with a mother who was a chronic alcoholic.

“Mum sort of grew up not kind of knowing where she was going to lay her head, and, um, she met an angel in the shape of my dad,” Lisa said.

Lisa’s father Ray died at age 69 in May 1990, after battling cancer.
