At first glance, Lisa Rossiter’s Instagram page looks like any other fashion blogger’s. There are plenty of #OutfitOfTheDay photos and shots of her fashion finds.

But take a closer look and you’ll see an extra, more significant hashtag sitting next to #OOTD – #FightCancerWithFashion.

Diagnosed last year with bowel cancer, the 34-year-old from Perth turned to her love of fashion and social media in order to stay positive.

Every day of her chemotherapy treatment, Rossiter posted a “Chemo Outfit”, sharing what she was wearing and detailing in the captions why she had chosen it. A bright yellow skirt was selected to bring brightness to her first day of chemo. Heels helped boost her confidence, and a slick of red lipstick helped give her strength.

The mother-of-one posted 125 'outfits of the day' in total, saying the support she received from friends, family and even total strangers helped keep her going.

"Some days I had no energy at all, but I'd still post a pic. I didn't want to make light of my situation, but it helped me stay connected with my friends and family," she told That's Life(Post continues after gallery.)

Rossiter first discovered something wasn't right after she suffered from the food poisoning-type symptoms and nausea after a cooking class that continued for a number of days and was eventually rushed to hospital.

After an anti-nausea injection, a scan showed the then 33 year old had two tumours obstructing the top of her bowel. One was stage two cancer while the other was stage three.

She underwent eight-hour surgery to remove them but the cancer had already spread to her lymph nodes, so chemotherapy was required.

While there's nothing glamorous about chemo or cancer, Rossiter made it her aim to always make an effort with her stylish and often colourful outfits as they helped her mood.

In one post, the 34 year old shared a picture wearing a bright red cardigan and matching pumps.

"Well today was a little stressful, so much to do and not enough hours in the day! Only bonus was I got to sleep in the chemo chair later this afternoon. Rockin' some red sequin shoes hoping if I click them together I might be taken away Dorothy style," the caption read.

Rossiter often turned to items and accessories like blanket shawls, cosy knits and little satchels to hide her chemo pump and favoured shirts as they gave the nurses easy access for treatment.

"I hid my pump bum bag under my grey waistcoat today with a black mini skirt and cute Zara singlet I bought in Paris with Nine West grey flat points. That's second round over, til next time..." she captioned her outfit from day six.

She finished chemotherapy in July and finds out her final results in December. In the meantime, she's still sharing her uplifting outfits.
