Sydney Swans Captain Kieren Jack is now engaged to his long-term girlfriend Charlotte Goodlet.
Goodlet announced the news on Instagram on Monday night, posting a photo of the happy couple posing with their dog.
“I’m so excited to spend the rest of my life with you and our sad looking dog. I love you so, so much,” she wrote under the image.
Jack and Goodlet made headlines earlier this year after Jack’s parents exposed a bitter family feud between themselves and the couple.
Donna Jack made their in-fighting public back in July, venting her frustration at being banned from the AFL star’s 200th game.
“So sad…you 200 AFL & you don’t want us there, your parents. No appreciation for all the yrs (sic) helping you get there,” she tweeted at her son at the time.
The feud was reportedly triggered by Jack’s parent’s disapproval of his Channel Nine producer girlfriend.
Both Donna Jack and her husband claim to disapprove of his choice of girlfriend and say their son now spends more time with his in-law family than his own.
“They are your kids and they can do what they want but, as parents, it hurts. It hurts us as a family, it cuts to your heart, it really does,” Garry Jack told The Daily Telegraph in July.
Addressing the matter at a press conference, Jack spoke defensively of his partner, saying “It’s been tough on her. She doesn’t deserve the treatment she has received. She is strong, she is an independent woman.”
He added that Goodlet is “not just a model. I love her very much and am very proud of her.”
