Singing extraordinaire Kelly Clarkson, 33, has announced that she is expecting another baby with husband Brandon Blackstock.  The couple already have a gorgeous girl, River, 1, and were hoping to add to their brood with a boy.

But the reason Kelly was so keen on birthing a male wasn’t really so she had a child of each gender.

Back in April, Kelly revealed in an interview with “Zach Sang & the Gang,” that her reason was more about how hard the pregnancy was going to be.

"Honestly the only reason why I'm hoping for a boy is because they usually say, if you're sick with a girl, you won't be with your boy," said Kelly. "So I am purely hoping for a boy so that I have like the most magical wonderful pregnancy."

Yesterday, her fate was sealed. In a simple Instagram post of her daughter, Kelly declared that River would be welcoming a little brother to the household.

We hope she gets that mystical, magical pregnancy she wants.
