Kate Hudson has pink hair for the best possible reason

We love it when celebrities embrace candy-coloured hair – even more so when it’s for a good reason.

Kate Hudson is the latest in a long string of Hollywood woman to go pink. But there are two things that set the Bride Wars star’s effort apart from the rest.

First of all, this was a mother-daughter moment. Kate’s equally famous mum, 68-year-old actress Goldie Hawn, also had a fairy floss streak added to her blonde hair:

More importantly, their fun new colour job was inspired by a very good cause: Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

"In honour of my bestie Juliana, my assistant Kathy, my grandmother Laura, Mimo and all the people who are fighting and have fought breast cancer. Your courage shines and inspires," Kate, 35, wrote on Instagram. "We decided to show our support by wearing pink proud!"

Nice one, ladies.
