The husband suspected over Melbourne mum Karen Ristevski’s disappearance was one of the emotional pallbearers at her tearful funeral.
More than a 100 friends and family packed into the St John’s Uniting Church in Essendon on Monday to pay their final respects to the Avondale Heights woman, whose remains were found on February 20.
Police are still investigating her disappearance almost eight months before her decomposing body was found in Mount Macedon Regional Park.
Ms Ristevski’s daughter, Sarah, was first to emerge from the church after a private service on Monday, holding a framed photo of her mother.
She was flanked by two friends who comforted her as her mother’s coffin was loaded into an awaiting hearse.
Ms Ristevski’s husband, Borce Ristevski, and his brother-in-law Steve Williams were among the emotional pallbearers who carried her coffin from the church.
Mourners tearfully embraced as they gathered out the front.
Ms Ristevski was last seen leaving her Avondale Heights home after an argument with her husband on June 29 last year.
She did not access her bank or phone after that.
Mr Ristevski’s lawyer, Rob Stary, told Fairfax Media recently his client “was clearly” a key suspect in her disappearance.
Police have said that media speculation in the case was not helpful to their investigation.
