Former Home and Away star Jodi Anasta has hit back at body shamers following weeks of headlines focusing on her slender frame.

During an interview with Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies on The MorningShow this week, the mother of one said women should focus on supporting each other instead of tearing each other down.

“I think women have to own their own bodies and you do everything you can to stay healthy and happy and that’s all you can do,” Anasta began.

“If people want to perceive that in whatever way they can but as girls, I say we all just stick together, we all support one other and we all be happy and healthy and do the best we can for our bodies.”

It’s been a tumultuous few months for the 31-year-old.

In December, she announced her shock split with her husband, ex-NRL star Braith Anasta.The couple, who married in 2012, have a two-year-old daughter, Aleeia.

Soon after, the Myer ambassador's weight loss began making headlines - so it's great to see Jodi taking a stand against the ongoing nasty speculation.

Bravo, Jodi. It's sensible advice that we can't hear often enough.
