Woah. 

Most 46-year-old women do not want to spend their birthdays in a gravity-defying dress that makes underwear an impossibility and sitting down a high-risk activity.

Jennifer Lopez, it is clear, is not most women.

BEHOLD, HER ROYAL HIGHNESS QUEEN OF BOOTY, SLAYIN’ IT:

JLo’s birthday dress in all its glory.

Ms. Lopez has flaunted her astounding figure in an Little Black Dress that’s likely to break records as the Littlest Black Dress in existence. This dress is the Everest of LBD’s, people: it’s got cutouts, it’s got undie-proof sheer panels, it’s got boobs, it’s got butt, and it’s got precarious looking spaghetti straps. We can only speculate that this dress is held together with superglue and witchcraft.

But, far from looking like a gussied-up Christmas ham (a fate us mere mortals would undoubtedly suffer), JLo is tanned, toned, and smug as f*ck. At 46, she goddamn owned that dress. And yet, across the office this morning, debate was running hot.

Some suggested she did not need to try so hard to prove to us that she is still hot.

Others thought she had given them #goals.

Some just wondered when they were going to have to start wearing brown lip liner again.

JLo’s knicker-free number had plenty in a knot, apparently, with Twitter running hot on the topic. Fellow sheer-panel connoisseur Kim Kardashian has given it her tick of approval, weighing in with the following:

And was joined by hordes of other stunned/impressed/drooling fans.

Others were not so sure.

Now, part of us wants to clutch our pearls and shriek that mesh should be reserved for colanders and crab traps only; whereas on the other hand, there’s a swelling of pride for Jlo’s absolutely immense body confidence, and refusal to go quietly into mum jeans and cardies.

And let’s face it, if you can’t even wear your birthday suit on your actual birthday, then when can you?
