Jennifer Lawrence is the new face of luxury fashion label, Dior.
She is to follow in the footsteps of previous ambassadors such as Charlize Theron, Marion Cotillard, Natalie Portman, and, most recently, Mila Kunis.
The Hunger Games actress will front the brand’s Spring/Summer 2013 Miss Dior handbag campaign, marking her first collaboration with a major fashion house.
“It’s such a dream to represent an iconic brand that is synonymous with high fashion,” said Lawrence. "His debut ready-to-wear and haute couture have distilled all the glamour of Dior into the modern era."
Lawrence seems to fit the brand’s aesthetic well, having recently worn Dior creations to the Toronto Film Festival.
She remains the second-youngest actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for her work in Winter’s Bone and is set to reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games sequel, Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
"Like everyone else, I first discovered Jennifer Lawrence in the roles she played in action movies," said Dior creative director Raf Simons.
"I was, of course, struck by her unbelievable onscreen presence in these "larger than life" movies, but I was equally impressed by her powerful portrayal of more emotional and complex characters. Her youth and her classic beauty, but also the feminine strength and complexity that she can portray at such a young age are, for me, very unique and very appealing," he added.
The campaign is set to debut worldwide in March 2013.
