She’s been very quiet since news broke last year about their divorce, but now Jennifer Garner, 43, has decided to share with the world the real reason why her and fellow actor Ben Affleck, 43, divorced.

And it has nothing to do with the nanny.

In a recent exclusive interview with Vanity Fair, Jennifer opens up about the “realness” of their marriage, and how its still difficult to move onwards and upwards.

“It was a real marriage… I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him. And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had. He’s the love of my life.”

Judging by these tender phrases, it’s plainly obvious that Jennifer and Ben still share a deep and connective bond, despite the media turmoil that put Affleck’s name through the mud.

“We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny,” Jennifer said. “She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes.”

But she did say it made her have some tough conversations with their children.

"It's not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives," she said. "I have had to have conversations about the meaning of 'scandal.' "

Jennifer and Ben, or Bennifer as they were dubbed in happier times, were married for 10 years before calling it off. They have three children together, Violet Affleck, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck, and Samuel Garner Affleck.
