NRL star Jarryd Hayne has shared with fans and followers the first photo of his newborn baby girl.
Posting an image of the newborn resting peacefully on his chest, Hayne, 28, captioned the image, “all praise to god above, for he never makes mistakes.”
According to the Daily Telegraph, Hayne and 25-year-old girlfriend Amellia Bonnici welcomed their baby girl in the Gold Coast earlier last week and are currently withholding her name from the public.
Both Hayne and Bonnici had been dating for a matter of months after meeting on Instagram when Bonnici discovered she was pregnant.
Almost immediately, it is believed Hayne moved Bonnici into his Gold Coast apartment and was supportive about the news and the impending arrival of their baby.
At the time, CEO of the Titans Graham Annesley confirmed that both Bonnici and Hayne were expecting a child together, but refused to go into details.
“We never comment on players’ private lives,” he said.
Hayne has been shrouded in the spotlight this year after moving from the United States back to Australia after trying to make a career out of American football. Upon arriving home, Hayne tried his hand at Rugby Sevens with Fiji, failing to make the Fiji Rugby Sevens gold medal-winning Olympic side.
In August, he rejoined the NRL, signing a $1.2 million-a-season deal with the Gold Coast Titans.
