Daughter of Hollywood star "safely back home" two weeks after she went missing.

Gotham actor Donal Logue’s 16-year-old daughter Jade has been found “safe and sound” almost two weeks after she went missing while visiting a friend in New York City.

Jade’s disappearance on 26 June sparked a social media campaign headed by her dad Donal and mother Kasey Smith for the girl’s safe return.

On Saturday the New York Police Department told the US's ABC News that the teen was found in North Carolina - about 800 kilometres from where she was last seen - and was now "safely back home".

"Donal is incredibly thankful for everyone's support, and especially to the NYPD and FBI for her safe return," Donal's rep said in a statement.

On Twitter, Donal thanked the public and authorities for their support, saying only that the family were "good". His ex-wife Kasey said she was "beyond grateful" her daughter is home.

A week after Jade went missing the Sons Of Anarchy actor implied Jade may have been taken by people she knew, in an impassioned plea for her safe return posted to Facebook.

"I lover her and who she is and her tribe is strong (I’ve met many wonderful people through Jade), but there are some predators who swim among their ranks knowing they’re dealing with sweet, trusting souls.

"We want you home Jade."

He also promised amnesty to anyone involved.

During the search, Donal enlisted the help of celebrity friends, including his Sons of Anarchy co-star Danny Trejo.

"Whoever has Jade, I want to plead with you, please just drop her off - anywhere. She'll find her way home," the 73-year-old says in a clip uploaded to Donal Logue's Twitter.

"It's got a lot bigger than you thought. And I know that you don't want to get the people that you're dealing with in trouble, so please just drop her off. There'll be no questions asked."
