Take a look at the designer gowns Ivanka and Melania Trump wore to the inaugural balls.

What do you do once you’ve been sworn in as the 45th President of the United States? Don your tuxedo and go on a whirlwind tour of the inaugural balls, of course!

President Trump, daughter Ivanka Trump, and First Lady Melania Trump, spent the final hours of Inauguration Day attending the Liberty and Freedom Balls, before moving on to a gala for the armed services, where they danced with servicemen and women.

In her first public remarks since taking on her new role, the 46-year-old told the crowd she was “honoured” to be First Lady.

Melania an ivory Hervé Pierre gown which featured a ruffled accent and a crimson waist ribbon, and the President wore a traditional tuxedo.

In typical Trump fashion, the President announced to the crowd “Now the fun begins,” before Melania told the troops via video conference: “We will fight. We will win. And we will make America great again”.

On the other hand the President's daughter, Ivanka Trump, 35, went for a princess look - donning a glittering Carolina Herrera gown.

Described by the fashion house as "champagne," the dress features a v-neck cut and long, embellished sheer sleeves.

After attending the balls, the Trumps will spend their first night in the White House.
