With the AFL Grand Final less than a week away, players and their partners are gearing up for the Brownlow Medal.
While it’s meant to be a celebration of the best player in the league, it’s the red carpet arrivals
everyone really cares about that have grabbed the lion’s share of the media attention in recent years, with countless debates over who was the best-dressed and who could have done better.
As a result, there’s so much pressure on attendees to ‘get it right’ – or do enough to avoid landing on the bad list.
At Mamamia, we’re all about celebrating Red Carpet Kindness. You won’t find any worst-dressed lists or judgmental comments about ‘fashion fails’ here.
It’s a reminder two seasoned Brownlow attendees, Annie Nolan (wife of Western Bulldog Liam Picken) and best friend Haylea Cooney (wife of 2008 Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney) are hoping people will remember as they watch and critique the red carpet tonight.
The pair are calling for a #BullyFreeBrownlow as a response to the increased trolling of female attendees and their fashion choices on the night.
