Hugh Jackman tells Ellen how meeting his wife was the "greatest thing that ever happened”.

Aussie acting/singing/dancing royalty Hugh Jackman has revealed his smooth moves on The Ellen SHow, telling the talk show host all about how he managed to pick up his wife, despite the fact that an entire TV crew had a crush on her.

Jackman, who will celebrate his 20-year wedding anniversary with Deborra-Lee Furness in April, met Furness when he was a ‘nobody’ on the set of Correlli, an ABC TV series in which she starred.

“I had a major crush on her – everyone did, the whole crew had a crush on her,” Jackman told Ellen.

“And I was so embarrassed by it, I didn’t talk to her for a week.” (Nice.)

He said about a week later he had a dinner party and invited Deborra-Lee over (along with 20 other people) where, after a bit of Dutch courage, they had an incredibly awkward, but fruitful conversation.

“She said, ‘What’s the matter? Have I annoyed you? You’re not talking to me anymore. What have I done wrong?” he told Ellen.

“And I said, ‘Oh, look, I’ve got a crush on you. I’ll get over it.’

“And she goes, ‘Yeah? I’ve got one on you too’. And that was it.”

Now, 21 years and two kids later, the gushing actor said things just get better.

“Obviously, she’s the greatest thing that ever happened to me and it gets better and better,” he said.

Ah, love…
