We all love a good manicure.
The only downside to the experience is when the nail technician hands you the stack of polish samples thicker than an encyclopaedia to choose from.
You flick through, slightly panicked by the technician standing over you, trying to picture what each colour will look like on the end of your finger before choosing the same nude you’ve had for the last eight manicures in a row.
That one time you branched out into a deep red or chic brown it looked horrible with your skin tone and you spent the next two weeks with your hands in your pockets, waiting for the ill-suited polish to flake off, berating yourself for wasting your hard-earned coin on a bad colour choice.
Well never again ladies. NEVER AGAIN. And it’s all thanks to a clever little hack from Texan college student Emma Young.
“I was looking at the nail options, and the nail salon I go to has them glued inside the book so you can’t put your finger under it to see how it looks,” she told BuzzFeed.
Emma found that by using her phone and the SnapChat app, she could make a personalised sticker of the different nail colours and try them out on a photo of her fingers before picking her final colour.
She posted the final result on Twitter and voíla.
So simple. Such genius.
Unsurprisingly, beauty fanatics worldwide have picked up the hack on Twitter.
Here's to never picking poorly at the salon again!

This seems like an awful lot of work when you can just hold the fake nail up against your skin.
