'I finally got my hands on Hismile's flavoured toothpastes. Here are my honest thoughts.'

Hismile
Thanks to our brand partner, Hismile

Ice cream. TV shows. Gossip. These are all things in our lives that we want — nay, demand — excitement and variety from. But for some reason, toothpaste has always sat outside this, only widely available in mint despite all of us (hopefully) brushing our teeth twice a day, every day.

Thankfully, after spending some time sending out positive vibes into the universe, Hismile are here to change that. Yep, the cult Aussie brand known for their teeth whitening products are now branching out with their new range of five out-of-the-box toothpaste flavours.

And when I say 'out of the box', I mean it. We're talking watermelon, coconut, mango, and peach alongside the classic mint flavour.

Honestly, this line-up is like the perfect Sunday brunch or summer in Europe which means they're oh-so-dreamy. And as the weather heats up, I thought it was the perfect time to roadtest these summery, fresh toothpastes, and shake up my oral health routine.

But before I give you the lowdown on how they taste, here’s how they actually, you know, clean your teeth.

Hismile use a special Fluoride+ formula that has been developed with ingredients that have been clinically proven to prevent cavities, reduce sensitivity, support healthier gums, and improve the wellness of your mouth. These are all really important things for your toothpaste to do, so not only is the range fun, but it's got all the benefits you'd want in a top-tier toothpaste.

Now you've gotten the 411 on the range, here are my honest thoughts.

Coconut Whip

So, this flavour is actually the reason I was excited to take the other flavours for a whirl. It's that good.

Probably the most subtle of flavours from the range, it has a yummy, tropical taste that feels like a holiday. I never thought I'd say that about a toothpaste, but here we are.

Mango Sorbet

When I was a toddler, my favourite food was mango. Not just mango though, specifically eating the seed (well, not the seed itself, but the fruit around the seed). I just couldn’t believe that mango was real, and healthy, because it’s so delicious.

So when I tried this for the first time, it took me right back to my childhood. And I know that my 3-year-old self would be absolutely loving life with this toothpaste.

As this was the second toothpaste I tried, I was pleasantly surprised with the consistency across the range — they are smooth and velvety which is a huge difference to the grittiness of most toothpastes I've tried.

Peach Iced Tea

After a spending a few days getting to know Mango Sorbet, I decided that Peach Iced Tea was the next one up. Why? Because peach is such a fail-safe flavour.

This one doesn’t have the fake, sweet peach flavour that you get in some foods, and the addition of the iced tea flavour balances it nicely.

It conjures up feelings of the first day of a holiday when you order a fancy drink somewhere at like 10.30am because, well... you can.

Smooth Mint

To break up some of the out-of-box-ness, I thought I'd try the Smooth Mint flavour. Yep, Hismile are still offering the toothpaste OG, but elevated... which is perfect if you still want that fresh, minty sensation.

This toothpaste has more of a gel consistency, rather than the creamy vibes of the rest of the range. But it’s not granular like some other mint toothpastes or coats your mouth with an overpowering taste which was so surprising.

Watermelon

Aaaaaand, I’ve saved the best for last.

Let me introduce to you what I now refer to as the GOAT of all toothpastes: Watermelon.

It tastes exactly like the 10c lollies you got as a reward after netball. But it actually... cleans your teeth?

Yep, if your mouth isn't watering right now, it should be.

I don’t have kids but I’m assuming it’s probably often a battle to get them to brush their teeth (I’m looking at you, teenage boys), so I've decided that this is the solution. You’re going to have to lock it up so they’re not brushing their teeth fourteen times a day.

In a word: delicious.

One of my favourite things about the range? If you get more than one flavour, you can mix and match, and create (almost) endless flavour combos.

I tried Coconut Whip and Mango Sorbet, and Mango Sorbet and Peach Ice Tea, but the winner for me was Watermelon and Smooth Mint, which I'm declaring a classic and underrated combo. Hismile just needs to make a feta flavoured toothpaste and then I’ll be able to recreate my go-to summer salad.

Are they worth the hype? Heck yes. Are they now on current rotation in my bathroom? You betcha.
