The new series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here premiered last night, and so did its offshoot series I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here NOW!
The show is hosted by former jungle inhabitant Joel Creasey, 25, and former The Bachelor contestant Heather Maltman, 29, and it’d be generous to describe the reaction to their presenting efforts as mixed.
Maltman acknowledged that the feedback hasn’t been all positive, referring to her detractors as “poo heads”.
+ These “hosts” are trying way to hard and it’s coming across so cringeworthy. #ImACelebrityAU #IACNOW

I think my fellow viewers of #IACNow will agree when I say I would rather be mauled by a tiger than have to endure another episode of this. — Kobi J A VanBennekom (@kobijv) January 31, 2016
#ImACelebrityAU #IACNow Awful. Embarrassing. Stop. Please. ???? — Jo✌ (@joferguson9) January 31, 2016
Like other reality programs of its ilk, such as Big Brother‘s various “companion” shows, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here NOW! aims to milk interest in the show for all it’s worth.
“Our show will be even more interactive,” Creasey told the Courier Mail before the show’s debut.
“If you’re a fan, Heather and I can respond to you by social media, on the screen, by phoning in. You’ll be able to speak to us and give your opinion. There’s nothing else on TV like it.”
And, well, there may never again be, if the poo heads get their way.
