Coined by TikTok (of course), the buzzy #preppygirlaesthetic trend has been doing the rounds on social media for a while now, and it has birthed a new era for the nostalgic bow — they're the must-have hair accessory right now.

And they look better than ever.

Just take a look at the recent Met Gala red carpet. It was swarming with preppy girl bows. And honestly, we can't get enough. Luxurious, polished and chic, the revival of the hair bow just seems right.

At the Met Gala, celebrities such as Karlie Kloss, Aubrey Plaza, Sydney Sweeney and Mary J Blige all served up some big ol' bow action on the red carpet this week and ooft — did you see Camila Morrone?

How GOOD does it look?!

And it's not just the red carpet that's been calling upon the revival of the bow.

Take a peek at the social accounts of celebrity hairstylists like Gregory Russell, Nai'vasha or Clayton Hawkins and you'll find celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Lily Collins, Emma Roberts, Jenna Ortega, Dove Cameron and Anya Taylor-Joy all rocking bows as of late.

Whether it's fastened in a loose half-up half-down situation, worn in a slicked-back ponytail, a top-knot, a low messy style or doubled-up (can confirm: never too many bows), the best part about the classic accessory is that it's so darn versatile. There are just so many ways to wear it.

Just look at this '60s vibe worn by Lily Collins:

No matter what way you wear it, it's hands-down the easiest way to elevate your everyday hair look without making too much of an effort. We love minimal effort.

Whether you want to go for something simple and subtle or make a statement with something like an oversized velvet bow, or better yet — a pearl-adorned bow —  they're literally the perfect accessory.

If you want to get in on the 'preppy girl' hair trend, there are some swanky bow brands out there like Jennifer Behr (ahem, pretty much every Met Gala bow was hers!) and Kristin Ess.

But if you're looking for some savey options (without those sneaky international shipping fees), The Iconic, ASOS, Cotton On ($13 for a cute velvet bow? Yes pls) or Lovisa have a ton of seriously cute bows in all kinds of colours and sizes.
